Lead Pastoral Team Dr. Michael Sherbino & Terrie Sherbino

Mike and Terrie bring a passion and love for the local church. They truly believe that it is the "hope of the world." Their journey began back in 1976, when they met on their first day of college. Four years later after being best of friends, they decided that they would seal their love for each other and "tie the knot". Seems that God in His grace allowed for the knot to be a strong one! Their 26 years of marriage has seen them pastor churches in the Toronto area (12 years), on the East Coast (9 years), and now the West Coast (since 2001).  During that time, they pastored in traditional settings and also were actively involved in church planting for over 12 years.

One of the passions that grew out of their ministry at The Peoples Church in Toronto, included the development of a ministry to singles and those single again. They still have that passion and want to see families, regardless of their state, move on to a place of wholeness and purpose-filled living.

Speaking about families, did we mention they have five daughters? Mike will tell you that when the girls were younger and they were out at a restaurant, people would mouth the words "Are they all yours?" He decided the best thing to do would be to have a t-shirt made saying "Yes, they are all mine and I didn't want a boy!" Their daughters range in age from 25 to 12 (Jaralin, Ashley, Brittany-Jill, Keddi-Anne & Karissa) and Mike finally did get that son when his oldest daughter, Jaralin, married Dave two years ago.

Mike and Terrie were formally trained at Ontario Bible College in Toronto. After getting married, Terrie juggled the pressures of a busy pastor's house with being a mom to all those girls and supporting Mike as he went on to finish his Masters degree and eventually his doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Seminary in Boston.

Woven into the fabric of the last 26 years have been television and radio ministries, assisting the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and preaching on behalf of International Needs, a worldwide Christian mission and development agency.

Enter the Sherbino home and you will probably be the brunt of a practical joke, enjoy a crazy party, or better still - one of Terrie's amazing meals that she always seems to pull out of thin air.

Their simple faith in the Lord has been the strength of Mike and Terrie's marriage and their guide for the choices they have made over the years. You will find that the welcome mat is always out at their home and also at The Way Community Church.

OK, we forgot one detail - they like motorcycles! With such a large family, getting out on the bike is one way for the two of them to spend some time together. Which one drives, you ask? Come on Sunday and find out!
