Things We Value
Faith -Based Conversations: Nothing should excite us more as we live in an age of doom and gloom than the fact that we can trust God to bring us through the difficulties of life. We have a message to share by word or with our lives about the difference that Jesus Christ brings into the way we do life. Remember... you are the Church! Like a gentle breeze on a hot day, like salt is to bland, like life is to dark - we need to know that our calling is to be vessels for His presence and power in our lives to touch the world. Talk about purpose.
Intentional Spiritual Growth: Just as the early followers of Jesus endeavoured to learn about the principles of the Christian faith and the teaching of their Lord, so we need to study and grow through reading the Bible and involvement in study groups - to not just acknowledge but expect the supernatural to happen in the course of our lives. There is a huge need for authenticity in the way we live. I / we have not arrived but we are on a journey and we welcome you to come with us.
Servanthood: Love is more than a feeling. The church is all about people reaching out in selfless acts of abandonment. The early church fostered the environment that serving other people was the best means of representing the example that Jesus had given to them. The logo for Harley Davidson is "Ride to live and live to ride." For the church it is to be "Serve to live and live to serve."
Resource Investment: Because we own nothing in this life, it is best to wisely invest the resources we manage for the one who is the true owner of all things. The Bible tells us that they shared all that they had with those in need... whether it was money, food, clothing, housing, relationships or skills and influence. That is living with Purpose!!
Meaningful Friendships: The church is all about relationships. Jesus expects us to become friends with each other. We are not to live in isolation but in frequent get-togethers which provide accountability, encouragement and opportunities for growth.
Family Faith: In the early church Christian families taught the ways of God in their homes every day. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that daily the world seems to be intent on destroying the values of the home. We will be passionate and committed to helping single parents, parents, grandparents and single adults strengthen that unit we call the home.
